Mighty
Lot of Singin'
Gerald Williams of
The Melody Boys Quartet
"In November of 1949, 16 year
old Gerald Williams' music career was launched when his mentor, Herschel Foshee
of the Stamps Baxter Quartet died suddenly and young Gerald was hired as his
replacement. The group then became Smilin Joe Roper and The Melody Boys Quartet.
Gerald is still anchoring the bass spot for
The Melody Boys Quartet today.
